COVID-19 Update

Saint Antoine Community’s Response to COVID-19

The safety and well-being of the residents and staff at Saint Antoine Community continues to be our top priority. Upon entering our facilities, all guests must wear a secured mask throughout the duration of their visit. All guests will be asked to thoroughly apply an alcohol-based hand rub, complete a screening questionnaire, and have their temperature taken. Once screened, guests are asked to go directly to the resident’s room/apartment (or another designated visitation area). Traveling through other common areas, including the dining room, of the facility is strictly prohibited.

The most current guidance for visitation and enforced measures for infection prevention, issued by The Rhode Island Department of Health, are as follows [updated 9/1/22]

  • All visitors must free of symptoms relating to COVID-19, including: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle/body aches, headache, new loss of taste/smell, sore throat, congestion/runny nose, nausea/vomiting, and/or diarrhea.
  • If a visitor has had a recent positive viral test for COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19, or currently meet the criteria for quarantine, THEY CANNOT enter our facilities.
  • It is imperative that all visitors use proper hand hygiene (use of alcohol-based hand rub is recommended) upon arrival at our facilities.
  • If possible, we ask that all visitors wear an N-95 mask while visiting our facilities. If you do not have one – our receptionists can provide one.
  • Visitors must maintain physical distancing of at least six feet – in accordance with CDC guidance.
  • When entering our facilities, all visitors must review the instructional signage and visitor education on COVID- 19 signs and symptoms, infection control precautions, other applicable facility practices (e.g., use of face covering or mask, specified entries, exits and routes to designated areas, hand hygiene).
  • Indoor visitation is permitted in our facilities, everyday and at all times.
  • There is not a limit on the number of visitors that a resident can have at one time. However, all facility visits should be conducted in a manner that adheres to the core principles of COVID-19 infection prevention and complies with the CDC 6 ft of social distancing guidance.
  • Resident and staff testing will continue to be conducted as required per State and Federal Regulation.

Saint Antoine Residence and The Villa at Saint Antoine Community reserve the right to deny entry for those who do not comply with the above noted safety measures and protocols.   Both facilities will continue to ensure that physical distancing is maintained during peak times of visitation (e.g., lunch time, after business hours, etc.) and that social gatherings (e.g., parties, events) be avoided where large numbers of visitors are in the same space, at the same time and physical distancing cannot be maintained. In addition, visitors should not travel around different halls of either facility, or walk into any of the common areas that are assigned for dining and/or group activities. Once screened in by a facility staff member, all visitors should go directly to the resident’s room and/or designated visitation area.
